Postrider features
Everything you need to build, send and organise API requests, in a free client that runs in your browser.
Git-backed collections
Choose a GitHub repository and Postrider reads and writes your collections as JSON files: environments in an environments folder and requests in collection folders. Every save is a normal Git commit, so you get history, branches and pull-request review for free.
CORS-free requests
Requests are sent through a server-side proxy rather than directly from the browser, so APIs that do not send CORS headers still work. You see status, response time, size and headers for every call.
Environments and variables
Define environments with key-value variables and reference them as {{name}} in the URL, headers and body. Resolved and missing variables are highlighted as you type. Built-ins include $uuid, $guid, $timestamp, $isoTimestamp, $randomInt and $randomEmail.
JSON body editor and response viewer
Write request bodies with syntax highlighting and read formatted, colour-coded JSON responses alongside raw output and headers.
Tabs, history and duplication
Work on several requests at once in tabs, duplicate a request to try a variation, and review what you sent in the request history.
Command palette and shortcuts
Press Ctrl/Cmd+K to search, Ctrl/Cmd+Enter to send, Ctrl/Cmd+S to save, Ctrl/Cmd+T for a new tab, Ctrl/Cmd+B to toggle the sidebar and Ctrl/Cmd+D to duplicate.
Collaboration through GitHub
Invite teammates with the access controls you already use on GitHub. Anyone with repo access can load the same collections.
